mealPlan.fit vs WellnessZ: an honest comparison for Indian dietitians

WellnessZ and mealPlan.fit are both built for Indian nutrition professionals, and both use AI to help write meal plans. WellnessZ is an affordable all-in-one coaching platform with a big template count, native Android and iOS apps and group challenges. mealPlan.fit focuses on the plan itself: QuickFill drafts a full week from that client’s real context, including your meeting notes and lab reports, in 45 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on how much client detail you add, for you to review and approve.

Below, every WellnessZ detail comes from WellnessZ’s own public pages, and every mealPlan.fit detail from mealplan.fit, with links and dates.

WellnessZ details from WellnessZ's own public pages, checked 26 September 2026. mealPlan.fit prices include GST.

Food counts are not like-for-like. Most tools count pre-made dishes. Instead of a fixed list of pre-made dishes, mealPlan.fit works at ingredient level: 1,000+ IFCT ingredients with 22 nutrients each. The AI builds any Indian dish or recipe from them in seconds, so regional and home-style meals are never “missing from the database”.

How the two approaches differ

WellnessZ is cheaper to start with: its public Basic and Pro plans are ₹499 and ₹999 a month for up to 40 and 120 active clients, with a 14-day trial. It publishes 2,000+ ready-to-use diet plans, runs group challenges, and offers native iOS apps and fully own-branded apps in the app stores. mealPlan.fit has templates too (including PCOS, diabetes and thyroid), a white-label client web app on Max, client logging streaks, session and staff attendance tracking, and a workout library of 200+ 3D exercise clips where you can also add your own YouTube or uploaded videos.

Both tools use AI for meal plans; WellnessZ advertises AI plans in about 5 minutes. mealPlan.fit’s QuickFill works from everything in the client file: conditions, allergies, preferences, goals, cuisine and city, plus your consultation notes (which Meeting AI can transcribe for you) and values pulled from uploaded lab reports. The dietitian reviews, edits and approves every plan, and nothing is sent to a client automatically.

On the public WellnessZ pages we checked, WhatsApp plan delivery, lab report scanning and client billing with GST invoices are not mentioned. In mealPlan.fit all three are built in.

Choose WellnessZ if…

  • You want the lowest monthly price (₹499–999 public plans)
  • You want the largest ready-made template count (2,000+ diet plans)
  • A native iOS app, or an own-brand app listed on Google Play and the App Store, is a must today
  • Group challenges are central to how you coach

Choose mealPlan.fit if…

  • You want each plan built from the client’s full context, including meeting notes and lab reports
  • You want every nutrient traceable to IFCT + ICMR 2020 (22 nutrients per ingredient)
  • You manage PCOS, diabetes or thyroid clients and need condition-aware plans
  • Your clients live on WhatsApp and you want one-tap plan delivery
  • You regularly work from lab reports and want them extracted automatically
  • You need GST invoicing and client payments in the same tool

Frequently asked questions

Is mealPlan.fit a good WellnessZ alternative?

It depends on what you need most. WellnessZ is cheaper to start (₹499–999/month on its public plans), publishes a larger template count (2,000+), has a 14-day trial, and offers native iOS apps plus fully own-branded store apps. mealPlan.fit costs more (Pro ₹1,999/month, Max ₹2,999/month, incl. GST) but builds each week from that client’s full context, including your meeting notes and lab reports, in 45 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on how much client detail you add. It also has WhatsApp delivery, a lab report scanner and GST invoicing built in.

Does the AI replace the dietitian’s judgment?

No. In mealPlan.fit the AI only drafts. The dietitian reviews, edits and approves every plan, and the AI never sends anything to a client on its own.

Does mealPlan.fit have templates and workouts?

Yes. You can save and reuse diet plan templates (including PCOS, diabetes and thyroid), and use QuickFill when you want a fresh draft from the client file. Workouts come from a library of 200+ 3D exercise clips, and you can add your own YouTube or uploaded videos. WellnessZ publishes a larger template count (2,000+) and 1,000+ workout videos.

Can I message clients inside the app, or only on WhatsApp?

Both. Plans can go out on WhatsApp in one tap, and clients can also message you in the app, with every chat kept on record (in-app messaging is on Max). Adherence tracking shows which meals clients actually logged, clients see a logging streak, and trainers can mark each session attended or no-show.

Does mealPlan.fit only use the data typed into the app?

It uses everything in the client file: the intake details you enter, your consultation notes (Meeting AI can transcribe the consult for you), values extracted from uploaded lab reports, and the client’s logged meals and progress. The more context you add, the more specific the plan, which is why QuickFill takes 45 seconds to 2 minutes depending on how much client detail there is.

Who interprets the lab reports?

The dietitian. mealPlan.fit reads the values from an uploaded PDF or photo (Lal PathLabs, Thyrocare and others) so you don’t have to type them, and shows them in the client record. The clinical interpretation, and every decision in the plan, stays with you.

How does pricing compare?

WellnessZ publishes Basic at ₹499/month for up to 40 active clients and Pro at ₹999/month for up to 120, with a 14-day trial; its branded-app plan is priced on request. mealPlan.fit Pro is ₹1,999/month or ₹19,999/year and Max is ₹2,999/month or ₹29,999/year, all including GST, with a 7-day trial and no active-client limit on Pro.

Which has the bigger food database?

WellnessZ’s pricing page lists a “28,000+ ICMR & NIN verified food database” on Pro, and its home page “20,000+ meals”.

Can I send plans on WhatsApp?

In mealPlan.fit, yes: one tap sends a branded PDF plan link to the client’s WhatsApp. WellnessZ’s pages that we checked don’t describe WhatsApp plan delivery, so check with WellnessZ directly.

Can I get my own branded app?

Both offer white-label. mealPlan.fit Max removes mealPlan.fit branding from PDFs, the client portal and the installable client web app, and a fully branded native app is available separately. WellnessZ offers fully own-branded apps listed on Google Play and the App Store. mealPlan.fit’s own iOS client app is coming soon, so for a native iPhone app today, WellnessZ is ahead.
